An old Daily Mail weather map
There seems to be a disconnect between the Dublin and London editorial departments of the Daily Mail.
“After a glorious autumn… Britain prepares for Siberian freeze in just weeks” was a November 2nd headline in the Daily Mail. Yesterday in the Irish Daily Mail there was a different perspective. An article by Sean Kane titled, “Ho, ho, hot! Christmas getting a warm welcome” tells readers that “Ireland is on course for the warmest November since records began”.
Kane writes that Met Eireann are forecasting that “the mild weather is expected to continue for the rest of the month”. But in the November 2nd article, a Mail reporter writes that, “Forecaster Brian Gaze of The Weather Outlook, told the newspaper: ‘There are signs of a significant change in the mild weather in mid-November.”
In yesterday’s Mail Gaze is again referenced. This time he is quoted as saying, “The mild southerly winds causing this unusually mild autumn are proving incredibly stable and difficult to shift, with no imminent arrival of winter ahead”.
